“Shoebite” gets drawn into another legal hassle

The Amitabh Bachchan starrer film “Shoebite” was in news for destruction of government property when the shoot of the film was being carried out in Shimla and another major legal hassle is being faced by the film and that is a copyright case. The film is said to have taken the script from the proposed movie “Johnny Walker” that was to be made by Percept Picture Company. “Shoebite” is being made by UTV.
The story of the film “Shoebite” is about a man in his 60’s played by Amitabh Bachchan who owns a book store and he is rather less serious about the aim of his life and his wife dislikes him for his behavior. One day his wife played by Sarika, gets ill and is bedridden, she is taken to hospital for treatment with no hope to live more and the man experiences a complete change in his outlook towards life.
The suit filed by Percept say that the script was initially taken to Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar was to make the film titled “Johny Walker” with the same script for Percept Pictures .The advance signing amount was paid to Amitabh for the film but later the money was taken back and the film production nwas halted .The same script of “Johny Walker” is made with the same director and actor in lead by UTV and the film is named “Shoebite “..
It seems Percept Pictures have collected enough evidence to prove their stands and the film “Shoebite” has completed production by 60% .The case filed with the Delhi High Court will be heard on September 6 .The film will have to stop production until the case is heart by the court. “Shoebite” is in mid way as it has completed shoots in locations like Nasik and Shimla and will affect the movie.
