“Tera Mera Ki Rishta” worked on box office

On the coming Friday ,movie “Kool Nahi Hot Hain Hum” is expected to be released and in the last weeks the movies that got released were “Meri Padosan, “”Dasavatar,” ”Chowrasta – Crossroads of Love,” ”Ek Se bure Do, “ “Pal Pal Dil Ke Saat,” ” Royal Utsav” and “Coffee House.” Since none of these movies were promoted and big budget movies, the audience attendance in theatres was low and box office collections were also less.

Arshad Warsi starrer “Ek Se Bure Do” got a total collection of around Rs 50 lakhs. The film “Coffee house” got collections of some Rs 1- 2 Lakhs from Delhi NCR region. Last week’s big releases were “8×10 Tasveer”, “Ek the Power of One”, “Ek Se Bure Do”, “Aa Dekhen Zara”, “Aloo Chaat.” As the producers and multiplex owners have not decided over the revenue sharing, these movies got open week to be screened but the collections were not encouraging. “8×10 Tasveer” made collections of Rs 12 -13 crores , “Ek The Power Of One” – it is low budget movie but it made collection of Rs 6 crores and “Aa Dekhen Zara” made collections of approx. Rs 6 crores.

A Punjabi movie “Tera Mera Ki Rishta” was also released. Amazingly the movie “Tera Mera Ki Rishta” starring Jimmy Shergill in lead role opposite Kulraj Randhawa has succeeded in getting audience in India and in overseas market. The movie had a love story of a young boy from Canada and a girl from Punjab.

The lead actor of the movie “Tera Mera Ki Rishta” Jimmy Shergill said that the movie makers should stop saying that the market is low as good movies are getting audience even in recession. Jimmy’s previous successful movie was “A Wednesday” and he said he is optimistic about his movies and he feels that movies should be good enough to be successful.
