Arjun Rampal, John Abraham and Rahul Khanna will join the battle of brawns in Venus’ next production titled ELAAN.

An all and out action thriller, ELAAN also stars former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, Amisha Patel and veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty. Although not much is known about the film’s storyline, it is heard that Arjun and Rahul will play positive roles while John will be seen as a villain in the movie. Vikram Bhatt will wield the megaphone for the movie. ELAAN is expected to be wrapped up by April 2003.

Rahul Khanna has made his intentions clear with Elaan. After carving a niche for himself in parallel cinema, Rahul has now taken the plunge into mainstream cinema.

In Elaan Rahul Khanna teams up with John Abraham to fight off an international villain played by Mithun Chakraborty. Rahul found ELAAN interesting because he had never attempted an action film before. Besides, its being made by a reputed production house (Venus) and has an accomplished director (Vikram Bhatt), explains Rahul.

Vikram is currently in Egypt along with Ratan Jain of Venus Films where the shooting is in progress.

Arjun Rampal plays the macho muscleman. John Abraham exudes some solid style. Rahul Khanna (seen onscreen after a hiatus) is commanding. Lara Dutta is seriously sexy while Amisha Patel perhaps plays the beauty with brains.

But the one who might be most impressive in this film is Mithun Chakraborthy. Mithun plays Baba Sikander, the negative lead of the film. Elaan is being touted to be Mithun’s comeback film. Agreed that the actor has always been here, but has been seen in some very insipid roles for quite some time now. But going by the fact that Mithun is the same actor who won three National Awards, its no denying that he is a talent-house in himself. Elaan should positively get him back to the league of A-grade cinema.
