Pritam irked with Zee Cine Awards

‘Dhoom Macha Le’ won the ‘Song Of The Year’ at the recent Zee Cine Awards and Pritam (he’s the music director of ‘Dhoom’, for those who don’t know) is crying hoarse that he wasn’t taken to London for the awards (and we told you all about it yesterday). Poor Pritam forgot that Zee, like other awards, has a dedicated category for the ‘Best Music Director’ and therefore the music director does not get repeated in the nomination for ‘Song Of The Year’.

Maybe Pritam should jog his memory back to last year’s Zee awards where Yash Johar (the producer) went up on stage to collect the award for the title track of ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ and not Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who were the music directors of the film.

Yes, Pritam was not nominated for the Best Music Director, but so what? Awards are entirely subjective! You win some! You lose some! One has to be a sporting loser! And as far as ‘Dhoom’ is concerned, we, like Zee, also felt that it wasn’t the soundtrack in total but only the title track (’Dhoom Macha Le’) that pulled the album through!
