Shahrukh and Swades on ETC Channel

When Shahrukh speaks everyone is just a spectator.

Speaking about ‘Swades’ on ETC channel’s Home Theatre on the occasion of its Seventy Fifth Episode he said that the movie is about a common man and how he does his part for his country.

A deglamorised role, if you think about the kind of glamour one attaches to Shahrukh. There are no foreign locales, no chiffons and silks, no jazzy cars and swanky hotels.

“But where do all my films have such items? We shot Chalte Chalte in one place in India, Veer Zara was also shot completely in India and so was Main Hoon Na. It depends on the story and what you are looking at. Accordingly, you decide the location. Swades is about an NRI coming back to his village and so we shot in Wai. In fact, we literally took over the village for three months. The locals could not even play their television. We are so thankful to them,” he reminisces.
