Chand Bujh Gaya’s gujrat release unlikely

Faiz Anwar’s “Chand Bujh Gaya”, based on the 2002 sectarian riots in Gujarat, is unlikely to be released in the state, with exhibitors refusing to book the film.

Courts recently cleared the film for release but exhibitors in Gujarat have avoided booking the film, refusing to cite any reasons for the decision.

The film stars Faizal Khan as the protagonist but it is Pratap Singh’s uncanny resemblance to the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi that has fuelled controversy over the film.
