Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai might become the hottest pair on screen soon, if offers starring, one opposite the other keeps coming up like this. Bollywood is abuzz that Abhishek and Ash are going to star in South film director Mani Ratnam’s next romantic project.

Rumour has it that Mani Ratnam was impressed by Abhishek’s performance in his earlier film Yuva (Abhi was seen in negative shade). Abhi also bagged the Best Supporting Actor award for the film. Now the famous director is keen to star Abhi and Ash in the leading roles.

Abhishek and Ash have worked together in Rohan Sippy’s debut film Kuch Naa Kaho. They were also seen together for some minutes in the hit song ‘Kajra re‘ from the movie ‘Bunty aur Bubli‘. The couple is currently busy shooting for the remake of the classic ‘Umrao Jaan‘ in Jaipur directed by JP Dutta. Actress Anjana Sukhani, who made an entry in Bollywood with Kushan Nandy’s ‘Hum Dum’ will star opposite Anil Kapoor and will play the role of a choreographer.

Nikhil Advani who directed successful film ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ for Yash Johar is going for a multistarrer this time. Salaam -E-Ishq stars Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, Ayesha Takia, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Govinda and Sohail Khan.

Bollywood star Aamir Khan wedding reception in Panchgani saw a scuffle between media reporters and Aamir’s security guards. Aamir Khan’s fans were also disappointed as their hopes to get glimpses of their favorite star got shattered because of his reclusive behavior.

The hotel where Aamir wedding preparations are going, has covered the whole area to bar media glare and a notice has been put their, warning media and fans to remain 100 meters away from the venue.

Some shutterbugs wanted to cover Aamir’s reception, that too within their limits but even this angered the security guards present their. These security-men started shoving and pushing the media persons and used foul language. This angered many fans and reporters present their.

Choreographer turned Director Farah Khan’s next film ‘Happy New Year’ with Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan has started shaping up. Farah has decided Model Deepika Padukone as the leading lady for her second venture.

This out and out comedy will be a fast-moving entertainer with no action and it will see more number of stars than ‘Main Hoon Na’. Anu Malik will do the music. The film is scheduled for 2006 release.

Talking about her forthcoming film, Farah said, “The project is in a nascent stage. The script is getting ready and after that I will give the details. But one thing for sure, Shah Rukh is going to be a part of it.”

Model Deepika Padukone is the daughter of ex-badminton player Prakash Padukone and was last seen as the Close-Up girl. Now she will be seen opposite Shahrukh Khan in Happy New Year. (more…)

Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan married his friend for four years, Kiran Rao yesterday 28.12.2005, at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai.

Theirs was a civil marriage and the ceremony was attended by the star’s family and close friends like Rani Mukerji, Fardeen Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker and Kunal Kapoor. Other Bollywood celebrities are invited for the three days Reception Party cum New Year Bash to be held in Panchgani (300 km from Mumbai) post marriage, where Aamir and Kiran first met.

The wedding party will have a Qawwali and Sufi poetry session. Kiran Rao is personally looking after the arrangements. The couple who has already left for Panchgani today (29.12.2005) will also attend a lavish wedding reception on January 2 in Bangalore arranged by Bride’s Family.

Hollywood actresses Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz are planning a backpacking trip to India for their upcoming film ‘Holiday’.

They reveled that they are coming to Goa, next year to research for their roles for their new movie ‘Holiday’. In the film, Diaz is set to play a neurotic American whose life is turned around when she meets an English traveller (Winslet).

It is also set to star heartthrob Jude Law and ‘King Kong’ actor Jack Black.

A source said, “Cameron and Kate have met socially but have never worked together. After they signed up for the movie they got talking on the phone. They decided the perfect way to prepare for their roles would be to go backpacking.”
