Ram Gopal Varma is remaking James with the name ‘Shiva’ where the whole cast of James will be repeated, although given different characters. Nisha Kothari who played an outgoing girl in James will discard her sexy image to act as a crime reporter.
In new Shiva, Mohit Ahlawat plays a cop just out of the police academy, faced with a harsh reality he isn’t prepared for. Kothari who is shooting for the film confirmed, “It’s an interesting character and I enjoyed doing it. This role has given me a better understanding of a journalist’s job”. (more…)

Taxi 9211 has just hit the theaters and its director Milan Luthria is looking forward to direct a young love story, once again for Sippys. His mantra is to get productive now.
Luthria has already tried romantic subjects with Kachche Dhaage (1999) and Chori Chori (2003), which took longer to make but now Luthria intends to get prolific.
He is upbeat about this new project written by writer Rajat Arora. Luthria said “When my writer Rajat narrated it to me I was stunned. It’s a very young and modern love story with established stars”. (more…)

Bollywood star Aamir Khan whose latest film Rang de Basanti was a box office hit has sued film magazine Filmfare, for Rs.210 million (USD 4.7 million) for “falsely” using his name in its advertisements to promote their annual awards that were held Saturday night.
The ad shows him wanting to get the Filmfare award trophy - the “Lady in Black”. But Aamir never gave permission for the using his name and picture in the advertisement and has charged them with misrepresenting him. (more…)

If one remembers, Aamir and Kajol didn’t hit off quite well during Ishq (that also starred Ajay Devgan and Juhi). But during the making of Fanaa they have turned out great friends.
After the release of Ishq, Aamir and Kajol (even though not paired together) didn’t came along very well and thus weren’t even paired opposite each other after the project. So there was a lot of speculation about the temperamental Kajol hitting it off with the resolute Aamir on the sets of Fanaa.
But fortunately both of them have sailed through their month-long schedule at the Chopra’s own suburban studio and have emerged firm friends.

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan may emulate Dav Anand and Waheeda Rehman in Pritish Nandy and Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Rahgir’ (traveller or wanderer), a repeat of Vijay Anand’s ‘Guide’ (1965).
The project is still to be finalized and its makers are working on the details. They have approached Akshay and Vidya and if everything work out well Akshay will play the traveller and Vidya might play Rosie. The film will start in the next few months so that it gets released this year. (more…)

Aren't you anxious that all three of your films are releasing simultaneously in March?
How I wish I could control the release of my films! I started all the films almost six months back. I must confess I am lucky to have three films one after the other. Let us see how audience reacts to them. This is indeed a rare phenomenon in Bollywood but I am game for it. (more…)

Yes, it’s true. The producers chose me after seeing my film ‘Kaal Purush’. It’s an honor to get such an offer, as the book is nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. The film is all about a woman name Nazneen from Bangladesh, who bears lots of hardship in both personal and social levels. It has a strong script and I would love to do it. But the problem is that they want 45 days’ schedule. I don’t know if I will mange to find time, as I am very busy with my other commitments. Still, I will try my best to do this film. (more…)
