Humko Tumse Pyaar Hain - stale but digestible

Movie Review: Humko Tumse Pyaar Hain

Humko Tumse Pyaar Hain is a romantic melodrama which is finally seeing the glow of release after many years. Produced by Cineyug, this love triangle would have hit the screens long ago, but the sudden demise of Bunty Soorma delayed the film. Later, director Vikram Bhatt stepped in to complete it. Although the concept of love triangle has been repeated many times but interestingly look of the film is not out of date. Also remarkable direction from Vikram Bhatt because when such films are directed under a different director the result is exaggerated and film looks patchy from where the new director must have started but in case of this film no so such thing has happened. Full marks to Vikram Bhatt for handling the project so well. Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai was shot in Switzerland and Rajasthan and this adds to the overall look of the movie. (more…)

Siddharth on lookout for more offers like RDB

Remember Karan of Rang De Basanti, the careless, spoilt rich brat, who around climax of the story takes an extreme step by killing his own father to avenge the death of his best friend. Then again in the ending he and DJ (played by Aamir) die bravely, playfully. The powerful role was played by South actor, Siddharth and exceptionally well too. (The role was so important that Rakeysh Mehra had approached Hrithik Roshan to play Karan.) Now the actor is looking for some more good roles in Bollywood. (more…)

Yana is special to me - Aftab

Last year was not so good for Aftab Shivdasani but this year he will be seen in many films - RGV’s Darwaza Bandh Rako, Vikram Bhatt’s Ankahee, Subhash Ghai’s Shaadi Se Pehle, Speed and other projects. His love life with Yana Gupta is flourishing equally. About his plans of turning producer the actor call them rumours.

Ram Gopal Varma's Darwaza Bandh Rakho is a black comedy directed by Chakravarthy. Tell us something about it?
It’s about four guys who kidnap a girl played by Isha Sharvani and takes her to a bungalow and eventually end up being hostages. It’s a brilliantly shot film.

In Vikram Bhatt's Ankahee Aftab will be seen opposite Esha Deol. How was it working with Esha? (In past Aftab had link-up with Esha)
She is a thorough professional and we were just colleagues on the sets. She behaved herself and I behaved myself on the sets. We both have matured. (more…)

Munnabhai sequel causes tussle amid producer, director

A cold war is going on, on the sets of Munnabhai M.B.B.S sequel between producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Raj Kumar Hirani regarding the title of the film. While Chopra is adamant on the working title ‘Mahatma Versus Gandhi’, Hirani would prefer the more breezy title ‘Lage Raho’.

The sequel features the good old Munnabhai pair Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi with the banner’s favourite Vidya Balan. Though a large chunk of the film is ready, the makers are still undecided about what to call this eagerly awaited sequel.

“Hopefully”, says a member of the cast, “Vinod Chopra will see the logic of using ‘Lage Raho’ instead of his chosen title. Until then we can only keep our fingers crossed.”

Himesh Reshammiya under plagiarism tag

Now that Music Director Himesh Reshamiya is crooning his way up the music charts, he has been accused of plagiarism by none other than DJ Akbar Sami.
