Juhi is my favourite co-star: SRK

For Bollywood Superstar, her co-star of years and a close friend remains a favourite till date.

After working with her for over the years, Shahrukh shares a special bond with her. Shah Rukh even made his debut as a producer with Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani along side Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza, who are his partners in his production company Dreamz Unlimited. Phir Bhi.. was a movie based on the commercialisation of the news . Though, the movie was ahead of its time, it is close to Shahrukh’s heart. He believes that Aziz Mirza, Juhi Chawla along with him, wanted to be producers so they made the film. He rates Phir Bhi.. as the ‘culmination’ of the love and friendship between Aziz, Juhi and himself .

Shahrukh in an interview to Star Gold says that “The idea ( for Phir Bhi..) was about commercialisation of news. At that point India did not have so much TV and i wont say that we could foresee the future but if we see it today, TV news is nothing”.

Among many of his co-stars, Shahrukh considers Juhi to be the closest to him and that he owes a lot to her in terms of his career graph. For Shahrukh, Juhi is not just a co-star but a close friend and someone with whom he has seen a lot of ups and downs in his life.

DON 2 : Remakes give way to sequels!

The trends are changing in the bollywood. After a lot of criticism and noise made over the remakes’ idea, it seems sequels are the latest trend - setters.

After Krissh, Dhoom 2, Lage Raho MB, now there is a possible DON 2 in prospect. Before the release of DON this year, a lot of hoopla was created about the remake of yester years’ classics. With the poor box - office review of the movie, there is affirmation to the fact that remakes are doomed for failure, especially the ones lacking a solid script.

Now, the proposals of a possible Don 2 send a clear indication of a trend of sequels being set in the industry. SRK himself has shown a keen interest and desire to work along with Farhan Akhtar in Don 2, if and when its been made. The King Khan sees a lot of prospect in the storyline that will move forward where the ‘Don’ left. So, Don ko pakadna mushkil hoga, par namumkin nahin. We shall wait ‘n’ watch for that!

Can ‘Baabul’ live up to the hype ?

The much awaited B.R. Films’ ‘ Baabul’ is scheduled for a Dec. 8 release. There is already a lot of hype created even before the release of the music of the movie.

Recently, at the launch of the film’s music, major distributors were invited by Ravi Chopra personally. Distributors are eager to book the film for their own theatres counting on the rave previews and small screen trailors of the film.

The movie also celebrates the golden period of 50 yrs of B.R. Films. Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salmaan Khan, Rani Mukherjee and John Abraham starrer is expected to be an audience-puller because of its ‘family- value’ essence and the festive mood of the season.

The film is expected to have a grand opening at the box office, but we ‘ll wait ‘n’ watch if it sets the ticket windows ringing.
