The much famous Daddy cool have announced that they will perform in the Melbourne International Blues Festival. Daddy cool will be seen performing together in public after 30 years.
They are scheduled to perform on the last day of the festival with Willie Nelson and Gretchen Wilson. This reunion is set to raise funds for the tsunami victims.
“It’s such a good cause” Ross Wilson said to the media. “Over the years I’ve visited many of the places that were most affected by the disaster and it makes you put yourself in other peoples’ shoes and awakens you to the fragility of our existence”.
Daddy Cool broke up in 1975 but still recorded together till 1994. DC an Skyhooks reformed and recorded a single that year. Wilson expressed his views about the concert. “The best part of it is that there is absolutely no agenda by Daddy Cool to tour or anything” he says. “It’s a one off and a chance to play the Bowl again in our hometown, which we will love, and it’s also a chance to get together one last time at the fantastic Melbourne International Music Festival.”
The Melbourne International Music Festival starts Friday February 27 at the Myer Music Bowl. The Doors, Blondie, Michael Franti, Taj Mahal and Roachford are just some of the other acts on the bill.
