Rekha and Mallika play con women in Bachke Rehna Re Baba

Rekha and Mallika Sherawat would be seen starring as sisters in “Bachke Rehna Re Baba” directed by Govind Menon. The film will be released April 22.

‘Bachke Rehna Re Baba’ is based on hit 2001 English comedy ‘Heartbreakers’ by ‘David Mirkin’ where Maxine Conners (Sigourney Weaver) and her daughter, Paige (Jennifer Love Hewitt), are real pro cons. First, Maxine leads them to the altar. Then, Paige lures them into seduction… and a hefty divorce settlement! After that, it’s on to the next unfortunate victim: repulsive billionaire, William Tensy (Gene Hackman). Unfortunately, Paige breaks the cardinal rule of the con and falls in love, with a young bartender (Jason Lee). Now, Maxine must hold on to her daughter and Tensy’s money, before she loses the best partner in crime she will ever have.

“It is a date that has been cautiously arrived at by the producers, one week after the Indo-Pak series ends on April 17. We were particular about avoiding the double barrel attack of the examination period and the cricket series,” Bollywood Trade quoted Menon as saying.

Produced by Vijay Galani and Rahul Sugandh and presented by Boney Kapoor, the film has been in news for launching Rekha in the unique role of a glamorous con-woman who tricks rich men off their money.

Mallika plays her sister and accomplice.

Post “Kis kiski Kismat”, there were doubts raised about whether Menon’s next film would have a tough time finding buyers, but there has been no dearth of that.

According to Menon, the film’s recently released television teasers have got the producers an excellent response.
