Nepal to honor Dev Anand at National Film Festival
Nepal will honor Indian film star and director Dev Anand at its first National Film Festival next month scheduled tentatively from July 11-17 for his contribution to the Himalayan kingdom’s film industry.
The festival will pay compliments to Devsaab with a Special National Film Award instituted this year. Last month three members of Nepal’s Film Development Board that is organizing the film festival, including Malla, went to Mumbai to invite Dev Anand. The actor accepted the invitation immediately.
The actor’s ties with Nepal date back to more than three decades to the time of the late King Mahendra, father of the present ruler King Gyanendra.
