Rang de Basanti to start soon

After producing celebrated tent-poles like ‘Lakshya’ and ‘Swades’, UTV, we hear, is likely to produce their next biggie, ‘Rang De Basanti’.

Though the producer has not made the fact official, the rumour in trade circles is strong that UTV is likely to back the project whose budget is now approximately 20 crore. None other than Aamir Khan will play the title role in the flick, which is to be directed by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra of ‘Aks’.

If all goes well, this boys’ film (with Aamir Khan and three more principal boys) will kick off in January 2005.
