Akshay Kumar injured while shooting for Garam Masala

While shooting on the sets of Priyadarshan’s movie - Garam Masala, actor Akshay Kumar walked right into a sharp-edged cabinet and cut his head.

Producer rattan Jain hurried a doctor to the sets to stop the bleeding. The doctor advised that the actor needed stitches to close the deep gash on his head, but Akshay declined.

He even refused to bandage the wound. And despite Jain’s offer to cancel the shoot, Akshay assured the unit that he was feeling fine and would like to finish the day’s work.

His make-up man Narendra Dada came to the actors rescue. “Narendra Dada put some ayurvedic medicine on my head while I held the split portions tightly together; the wound is healing nicely, I don’t need stitches,” said Akshay.

“Tomorrow, the media might distort the incident and write that I had a huge fight with a heroine and she injured me by throwing her slipper at me!” the actor guffawed.

The Priyadarshan-directed Garam Masala stars Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Rimi Sen.

The film, the tale of a pair of two-timing youngsters, is a remake of Priyan’s 1985 Malayalam comedy Boeing Boeing (featuring Mohanlal), which in turn was inspired by a 1960s Tony Curtis flick about a man who dates many air-hostesses simultaneously.
