Akshay to turn distributor with Waqt

After watching the unedited version of Vipul Shah’s Waqt, Akshay Kumar was so touched that he told Shah he wanted to be associated with the film in more ways than one.

Akshay Kumar, who has never shown any interest in any other department of filmmaking other than acting, has decided to distribute Waqt in Maharashtra circle.

Waqt’s a beautiful film that will touch every father and son’s heart. Besides Kumar the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shefali Shah and Boman Irani. The movie will release in April.

People close to Akshay Kumar point out that Akshay wanted to distribute this film because he lost his father a few years ago and was very close to him.

When quizzed weather he will distribute films in future Akki goes on to stress that this is a one-off decision and that he has no plans to distribute more films after Waqt.
