Amitabh does a free cameo for Shah Rukh Khan

Amitabh Bachchan is doing a very special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s home production ‘Paheli‘. Amitabh plays a shepherd in the Paheli and his entry is an important juncture in the movie.

As it happened, Bachchan recently shot for his portion of the movie and after the shoot he was gifted a bouquet along with an envelope by Shahrukh. Thinking that the envelope contained a ‘thank you’ note, Bachchan took it home only to find a cheque of Rs one crore in it.

Bachchan quickly sent back the cheque to Shah Rukh, with a personally written note in which he explained that he hadn’t acted in the film for money but for emotional reasons.

And there was also some humor in this episode. Incidentally, SRK had forgotten to sign the cheque when he gave it to Big B. So Bachchan returned it back with a small note of caution to SRK.

It is then that Shah Rukh Khan realized much to his horror, that in all his excitement and haste, he had handed over an unsigned cheque to Amitabh Bachchan!

As for Paheli, the movie tells the story of a ghost who falls in love with a young bride. The film stars Rani Mukherjee in the female lead. Sunil Shetty and Juhi are also reported to be doing cameos in the movie. The movie is expected to release at the end of May.
