Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan gets a royal redressal for Yagna

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film Yagna is the story of a Rajasthani royal family.

The film has Bachchan in a pivotal role of a royal protector. Naturally, the costumes and look of the lead actors for this film is very important.
And the best-known designer of royal descent, Raghuvendra Singh Rathore, is roped in to design the royal costumes required for Bachchan’s characters in the film.

Raghuvendra is a scion of a royal Rajput family of Rajasthan and has successfully designed costumes for Amitabh Bachchan during the first season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

“This time, I have designed the achkans, kamarbands and colours which give the character a sense of action because Bachchan plays the role of a royal protector. I have used a lot of Kantha embroidery on cottons - combining tradition, fusion and modernity. Cotton is symbolic of Rajasthan and the costumes of Yagna show this in a unique style.”

Besides Bachchan, Yagna also stars Sanjay Dutt as a police officer and Saif Ali Khan as a prince.
