Megastar Amitabh Bachchan put to rest a weekend of media speculation about the state of his health by arriving on the sets of Ravi Chopra’s Baabul at 3.20 pm on Monday. The media was abuzz with rumours that the actor was still not well from his illness and might go for another surgery.

Amitabh who had resumed shooting a week ago after a two-month hiatus following abdominal surgery was slated to leave for Kolkata on Saturday but cancelled the trip at the last minute citing health problems.

He, however, resumed shooting for the last leg of ‘Baabul’ at Filmcity studios in Andheri on Monday afternoon. Clad in a white kurta-pyjama, he stepped out of his Lexus and walked straight to his vanity van, seemingly oblivious to the posse of shutterbugs.

“He has been shooting continuously for the past five days for Karan Johar’s film ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ and also for his make-up man Deepak Sawant’s Bhojpuri film ‘Ganga’. Obviously, he has suffered from exhaustion. It is nothing serious but he wanted to take rest”, a source on the sets of ‘Ganga’ said.

However, Bachchan’s family doctor Jayant Barve denied any knowledge of the star’s illness. He also denied knowledge of an impending surgery.
