Amitabh Bachchan is slated to play in Karan Johar’s magnum opus Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna that has sexual undertones to it.

But the Big B sees his role differently. “The film is about human relationships. Today the man-woman relationship in its urban, contemporary avatar is changing so fast that most people cannot keep pace with it.”

He says when Karan narrated the script to him he was astounded at the role he was about to play. It is a ‘hatke’ film, different from everything Karan Johar has done till now.

“I have just a small role in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna - but it is potent because it has sexual undertones. The role has a different pace to what I have done earlier.”

According to Mr. Bachchan, “Now the time is ripe for viewers and producers to see the film industry differently. It is time for film subjects to be ‘grown up’ like they are in the international scenario. The past two or three years have brought great changes in Hindi cinema and Karan Johar is becoming a part of the changing views.”

The film begins shooting in the next few months.
