Amitabh served legal notice for smoking cigar
Some or the other things have been going bad for Amitabh Bachchan and his home production film ‘Family - the blood of ties‘ which is ready to release on 12 January.
First the film was delayed from its original release schedule because of Amitabh’s surgery and now the film’s promotional hoardings has become the issue for National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication and they have sent a legal notice to Amitabh Bachchan for smoking a cigar in the hoarding.
They have accused the megastar of violating Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 by appearing in an advertisement which shows him smoking a cigar. The Goa police have also been made a party to the legal notice for their failure to bring down the hoardings put across the union territory.
“The legal notice is served giving eight days time for Bachchan to reply,” NOTE secretary Shekhar Salkar said. He also said such hoardings are also banned under Goa Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting Act, 1997.
Going by some of the past incidences (Tax notice served on ailing Amitabh) we can say that Indian Sarkar is really after Amitabh Bachchan.
