Bodo community angry with Tango Charlie
Mani Shankar’s film Tango Charlie is facing trouble in East India. The Bodo community from Assam had severe objections against the portrayal of their society in a negative light in the film. The film refers to Bodo militancy and shows a Bodo militant cutting off the ears of a hostage and gifting it to his girlfriend.
The Advisor of All Bodo Students’ Union has insisted for a ban on the screening of the film and has also demanded an apology from the director and producer of the film. Though the film has not yet released in the North East, pirated VCD’s of the films are openly available in the region.
Tango Charlie stars Bobby Deol, Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty in lead roles.
