Bollywood lacks new scripts

The films like “Guide”, “Do Bigha Zameen”, ”Devdas”, ”Saheb Biwi Aur Gulam” were based on famous novels written by recognized writers like Saratchandra Chattopadhyay, Prem Chandra, RK Narayan and the stupendous scripts of these films, made the movies outstanding. The 50’s and 60’s movies had different scripts, since the movies were in their initial eras, there was no scope for copied or inspired movies (from where to copy) .The films were made on original stories.
Most of the films were different from other, be it love story or a historical movie. The promotional and marketing theme was not prevalent in bollywood then. Initially the films had scripts that brought people to cinema-house, then it was songs and dances ,later was the colors and presentation and now it is the marketing that calls people to theatres. Some of the old films like “Tere Ghar Ke Samne” ,”Bombai Ka Babu” ,“ Bandini” , “Johny Mera Naam” ,”Pakeezah” are very different from other.
As the generation is changing and the movies are being made on some inspired script from Hollywood or old bollywood films, the songs are also inspired, the script of these kinds of fast track films can be predicted before the movie gets released and the suspense about the film is not there .Bollywood’s new directors are hesitant to experiment a new script or a new face.
People in creative fields going into 21st century are scared to lose their name and money, they refuse to do research work in cinema and go by the regular masala trend but the success of “Taare Zameen Par” and “Chak De” showed that a sincere movie with a fresh new script can never fail be it 1950’s or 2010 and it also showed that hindi movie audience are not going to theatres for love stories.
