In this case most of the sufferers believe justice was delayed and even denied.
More than 25,000 people got killed in the incident .What was their fault who died — as the toxic gas leaked from the Union Carbide India Ltd –the pesticide plant in the crowded place of Bhopal? Even today the water of the area is toxic and the major fault behind the incident was negligence .Bollywood slammed the judgment of the court over the issue and many leading stars and movie makers felt justice was denied.
In the final verdict about 7 officials of the Union Carbide India were found guilty of negligence and they were sentenced for two years of jail term and were fined Rs 100,000.The court said “It cannot be identified if a person is suffering due to the same cause or not. ”Famous movie maker Shekhar Kapoor said “Its pathetic that nobody cares for the death of thousands of poor people.”
Actress Gul Panag said “Its mockery of justice” .Many of the bollywood stars expressed their views against the justice including movie maker Goldie Behl and film photographer Atul Kasbekar. Many felt the justice was in favor of accused who came smiling out of the court even after having their hands in the killing of thousands of kids and adults.
