Bollywood redefining role of actress

In the Bollywood the actress need to redefine their status as the current trend in the Industry is absolutely against the normal role of actress. Last year was worst for top Bollywood actresses who were not in many of the blockbuster of the year 2007 and movies enacted by the top actress in Bollywood simply flopped at the box – office.

Before the year 2007 the actress Preity Zinta and Rani Mukharjee were having a place in the Bollywood scenario which was considered to be important for its name but currently the situation is just opposite. The actress Kareena Kapoor who was unable to put her mark on the Industry had a hit movie last year, was Jab We Met and in the movie she performed unexpectedly well.

Kareena after a few Priyadarshan movies and bagging a few more movies with Shahrukh Khan and getting lots of advertisement offers and she has made a place for herself in the Industry which will bring her to audience for the next five years.

She was not only famous in the last year for break up with Shahid Kapoor and relations with Saif Ali Khan but also for getting in the list of one of the highly paid ladies of the Bollywood. Same can be said for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who too is unshakeable from the Industry for her presence in many advertisements and in the Bachchan family.

Rani had 3 movies released in the year 2007, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Tara Rum Pum and Saawariya and all the three failed on the box –office badly though the movies were made by some of the popular names of the Bollywood and this has reduced her popularity in the Industry. Same way Preity is in news for getting into cricket, business and for her associations to Ness Wadia and her movie Jhoom Barabar Jhoom failed on the box office.

Many other actress in Bollywood are just wiped out form the Industry giving places to Deepika Padukone , Katerina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor.

The movie like Chak De India, Taare Zameen Par, Dhamaal were not having any lead actress in the movie and all these movies fared well on the box office and it is a time for the actress of the Bollywood to rethink and redefine the role of actresses in the Industry .
