Deepak Tijori whose film Tom Dick and Harry is almost complete and for slated December release has been slapped a legal notice by Sohail Khan.

Actor-producer Sohail Khan has sent the legal notice for use of the title and is demanded a whopping Rs 10 crore in damages for use of the same.
Sohail claims that he had registered the title in August 2003 and also informed Deepak that the title was not available but the producers of the film were adamant.

However the producer of ‘Tom Dick and Harry’ Surendra Bhatia insists that they are doing everything by the book. We registered the name with the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) in August. Earlier the original rights of the title were with Sudesh Berry. Sohail has not been renewing the title since the last two years.

“It is mandatory for all registered titles to be renewed every year till the movie goes on the floors, failing which other filmmakers can use the same'’ says Bhatia, who has issued a counter legal notice to Sohail and insists that they will fight it out till the end.

“The film is nearly complete and the publicity campaign is in full swing. We can’t back out now,'’ he says.
