Desi audience watching Hollywood movies or regional movies

The Indian audience has been underestimated many times by the Bollywood movie makers who make substandard movies and expect the audience to watch the stuffs. The movie that is good and praised by the entire world is even getting praise by the village going desi audience and this can be concluded from the facts that the movies like Spiderman and Harry Potter generated huge revenue in all parts of the India when the movies were dubbed in the regional languages.

Though the revenue generated by the small town movie goers can not be compared to those who watch the same movie in multiplexes but the audience is literate enough to accept only a good product. The movies that are getting released from Hollywood generally get critically praised by the India movie reviewers and these movies are watched in many parts of India when it is dubbed in the regional languages.

The Christmas season has arrived and many Hollywood movies have been released in India that includes Beawoulf, I m Legend, The HeartBreak Kid, Air Buddies, Game Plan etc. All these movies are not getting best reviews in the west but the story of most of the movies are accepted by Indian audience as the final movie product has a script that is new to Indians.

Some of the so called good movies of Bollywood in 2007 are Saawariya that did not have an original script, it had the script of RK movie Chalia that was released in 1960, Om Shanti Om had script of Karz, Bhool Bhulaiya had script from a Malayalam movie and even Jab We Met had a story that we have seen many times in many Hindi movies. Even Chak De India can be said to be made after watching Bend it like Beckam.

As Bollywood is not making good movies the small town movie goers are finding the regional movies sufficient to get them movies of their choice and hence Bollywood movies are getting wiped out from many such areas.
