Eklavya has no fear of animal activists
Filmakers who have used animals in their films, seeing ‘Rang De Basanti’ and Animal Welfare Board episode are afraid they also might have to face opposition sometime in future. But Vidhu Vinod Chopra is not afraid for ‘Eklavya’ even though he has shown pigeons and camel in his film.
Vidhu revealed the secret, “Let me tell you that the pigeons in my film are computer generated. Even the camel legs that you will see in the film are unreal and have been specially created at a cost of Rs 80,000.”
But why he went to all that trouble and expense even though when he can use real ones after getting the permission? “See, we shot images of real pigeons, which we maneuvered the way we wanted to on the computer. I certainly couldn’t have got real pigeons to obey my instructions as a director”, he answered.
About employing camels, he says, “The camel legs were created by my art director. It has Mr Bachchan in the scene and we did not want anything to happen to him.” Sure Vidhu has taken care of everything since he wants no trouble with his huge project.
