In her forthcoming venture ‘Ankahee’ Esha Deol is plays the role of Miss Universe who falls in love with a married man. And Esha herself has nothing against extra-marital affairs.

How does she feel about her role in Ankahee?

I was thrilled about being given a lot of attention, which I think I deserve. And the character is exactly like me, or any typical Scorpio - expressive, confident and yes, a tad obsessive. I loved being dressed up as Miss Universe. I thought that with my athletic body I could pass off as a tennis player, but a beauty queen? That was tough.

I could also relate to the character because I play a lonely girl. When I entered the industry, I was completely clueless. I was like a mannequin - people came and did whatever they wanted to. A woman completely ruined my eyebrows. Now I am much smarter. Today if someone even wags his finger at me, he’s had it. You have to be street smart in this industry.

But ‘Ankahee’ seems to justify extra-marital affairs?

You can’t justify falling in love. Love is love. I don’t have anything against extra-marital relationships - I am all for it. C’mon, my mother fell in love with someone who was married. Tomorrow, I could fall in love with someone who’s attached. I don’t see anything wrong with that. My heart could desire a married man, and I’ll have no control over that. A lot of people face situations like this, and that has helped me play the character.

If you are asked to name one industry man whom you wish was unmarried?

(Winks) My father! You know what I mean. It would be great if he was unmarried.

Esha says a good heart is the best weapon to seduce a man.

Women have big hearts and men are suckers at the end of the day. Till date, my dad writes shayari for my mum and it still touches her heart. What can be more romantic?
