Farhan Akhtar meets his childhood hero

Farhan Akhtar said his childhood hero has been Hollywood star Robert De Niro and it was a great opportunity to meet him in Dubai recently. Farhan said it was like a dream come true as he met his childhood idol at the launch of Atlantis Palm Hotel in Dubai. The hotel was launched on November 20 and many popular people from around the world, Bollywood and Hollywood stars were invited to the launch party.

Farhan said he was accompanied by Shahrukh to the function and De Niro did not know about his films but standing with Shahrukh, might have hinted him, what Farhan was in Bollywood. Farhan said he has taken contact number and he will be sending his film to him.

The launch of Atlantis Palm hotel on the Palm Jumeirah Dubai was attended by many Hollywood actresses like Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue, and Lindsay Lohan who wore diamond jewellery on the evening. The hotel opened on Thursday and it has bene built by Sol Kerzner, a South African hotelier from a budget of £950 million.

Farhan said his main aim to go there was to meet De Niro and to have a handshake with him but he was thrilled to be hugged by him. Farhan said he couldn’t make out if De Niro felt how he respected him. Farhan said De Niro has been his inspiration to get into movies and he felt like taking a holiday to come out of the experience he had with De Niro.
