First look- Chamki Chameli

The movie “Chamki Chameli” is being produced by Sanjay Gupta, Sheetal Vinod Talwar and Pravesh Sippy. The movie will be shot mostly in Rajasthan and the movie is being directed by Shyam Benegal. The lead role in the movie of Chamki will be played by Priyanka Chopra and for the lead actor Vivek Oberoi was contacted but the deal couldn’t be made with the actor because Vivek Oberoi asked for a huge price from the director for doing the movie. Shyam Benegal couldn’t justify paying the asked price money to the actor and reverted back his offer from the actor Vivek Oberoi.

The movie “Chamki Chameli” is a musical and A.R. Rahman has been signed to do the music of the movie and lyrics of the songs will be written by Gulzar and Javed Akhtar. The movie is being made under the White Feather Films and was under plan from more than a year’s time.

The story of the film has been written by Shama Zaidi and the film is based on the French Opera Carmen that was directed by George Bizet. The movie on the theme was made in Hollywood in the year 2003 and copyrights of the film are held by Shyam Benegal.

The story of the film is about a girl Chamki, who is fiery in temper; she is self indulgent and has poor moral character. She doesn’t thinks of future and lives completely in present. She is not honest in her relations and is fatalistic in nature. She has been responsible for downfall of many men.

She is a part of a drug running group and one day she meets a BSF man Dilip Singh. Dilip gets attracted to the girl to extend that he goes against his superiors for the girl and he to reaches the drug running group with the girl. Dilip is very happy with the girl and he loves her but like other men, will he too reach a future or will he control his passion and infatuation towards the girl.

The movie is under plan and by October the movie will get on floors.
