Gwen Stefani beats 50 Cents to No. 1 position on Billboard’s Hot 100
With a leap from No. 3 to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Gwen Stefani’s Hollaback Girl ends the nine-week reign of 50 Cent’s Candy Stop featuring Olivia, which slips to No. 3. Hollaback is the latest single from the No Doubt singer’s solo debut, Love, Angel, Music, Baby (Interscope), which has sold nearly 1.8 million copies in the US.
The album is No. 6 on the Billboard 200 in its 22nd week. The Game’s Hate It Or Love It featuring 50 Cents remains at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a fourth week, while Akon’s Lonely spends a third at No. 4.
Ciara has her eyes on a second Hot 100 chart-topper with Oh featuring Ludacris, which jumps from No. 8 to No. 5.
The RandB newcomer first went to No. 1 in September 2004 with Goodies featuring Petey Pablo.
As Kelly Clarkson’s Since U Been Gone dips 5-6, her latest single, Behind These Hazel Eyes, continues its rapid ascent on the chart, making a 65-46 move.
