Haseena and Souten, B-Grade flicks set for release in coming months

Barring “Zeher”, all the steamy thrillers have dropped dead at the box office so far this year. But this has not deterred producers from making more B-grade dramas with a healthy dose of skin.

There are more to come our way. One is Vikky Ranawat’s “Haseena”, which has Isha Koppikar playing wife to Raj Babbar. She becomes obsessed with her step-daughter’s man and resolves to have him at all costs. Hang on; there is also Karan Razdan’s “Souten” where Mahima Chaudhary is the wife of Gulshan Grover. She too falls in lust with her step-daughter’s lover. Isha and Mahima play negative roles in the two films that appear to have identical plots.

When two films with the same storylines release at the same time then the chance of box office success looks very unlikely (never mind the fact that sex thrillers are no longer in vogue!).

Last heard, the producers of “Souten” are quickly trying to finish off their product and hope to release it before “Haseena” gets there!
