Director Raj Kanwar is very busy with the post-production work of Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye which was inspired from a real love story. It will be releasing next month.

Kanwar revealed that his film Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye was inspired by a real life couple in Canada, “Their love story left me stunned for two days. The third day I met them again. I jotted down details of interesting incidents that transpired in their lives and that’s how I penned the story of my film”, he said.

According to him, Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye isn’t the usual, cliched love story. “My films are bold. For traditionalists and people from the older generation, it will be a shock. But the younger generation will be open to the subject,” he added.

Talking about actress Katrina Kaif’s Hindi diction he agreed that they had to face problem with her Hindi initially and for seven months, they tutored her to improve her diction before actually going ahead with the shooting of the film.

He said, “Yes, I had a problem with her Hindi initially. Once that task was done she was just magic before the camera. What worked for us was that Katrina was equally enthusiastic about improving her Hindi language skills.”

The director is just amazed by leading actor Akshay Kumar, “He improved by leaps and bounds as an actor. When I worked with him in Andaaz, I wondered about how to present him differently and in a manner that he had not been seen all these years.”

“Akshay’s biggest asset as an actor is his flexibility. He is completely open to suggestions and there’s a constant endeavour on his part to improve,” He added.

Meanwhile Kanwar has signed exclusive contract with actresses Tanushree Dutta and Lara Dutta for his production house Inderjeet Films Combine that stipulates them to do three films each for Kanwar’s production banner. Besides this he has also signed Anuraag Singh and Vivek Sharma to make films for his banner whenever good scripts and stories come his way.
