Humor on Indian Television, A discussion on Humor on Indian TV

When someone gets back from office , thake haare , he needs his cup of tea and a dose of humor on tv. Personally im very disappointed with humor on indian telly (I actually would term is “to be passed as humor”. We not only have a dearth of comedy shows but also a lack of qualiyu “humor”. I genuinely dont find slipping on a banana skin funny( perhaps as a 8yr old for sure but surely not now) .

Not that we lack content we have some seriosly funny literature which could serve tv and even movies but still i have no cluse why tv producions keep on doing those inane comedy shows.
We have no standup comedians, those funny sharayiri mushairas that dd hosted not so long ago were boring ( i suspect it was more to do because it was on dd , where they could just switch the programme off in the middle for the news).

There were and are some really funny shows on marathi tv , but ill be sticking to a more rashtrabhasha oriented discussion here:

The Shows That I Have Found Funny Over The Years
- Yeh jo Hai Jindagi (dd ..long long time back)
- ShrimanShrimati (Starring jatin kanakia , that guy is genuinely funny)
- Ikke pe ikka (A music countdown show hosted by sajid khan ..i wonder how he gets away with the things he says, his comedy is on par with snl or anything else)
- OfficeOffice (Some of the episodes are really funny)
- Hum Paanch wasnt too bad either (perhaps its ashok saraf , he’s too funny)
Im pretty sure there are a few more shows that im missing , perhaps somebody could pen a few thoughs…
