“I Hate Luv Storys” starts with 50%, expected to get 75% occupancy
“I Hate Luv Storys” started slow but multiplex owners believe the movie will get at least 75% by the week end. In the last few weeks only the movie Rajneeti performed well and the movie still continues to make the sale of tickets. In the last quarter the big budget movies included Housefull, Badmaash Company, Kites, Rajneeti and Raavan and except Rajneeti none of the movie fared well.
Housefull was average hit, Badmaash Company also fared normal, and Kites and Raavan flopped on screen. All the movies were rejected by audience because the movies did not perform as expected. “IHLS” is first movie of the month July and the third quarter of the year, and it comes after nine months of release of “Wake Up Sid,” which was another movie by Dharma production having Ranbir and Kangana in lead roles.
The movie “I Hate Love Storys” has been made from a budget of Rs 25 crores and the movie will be screened on 1000 screens across various movie theatres in India. IHLS is not aimed to attract international audience (although it uses the Hollywood like sequences) as it is simple love story resembling the everyday love stories of metro city workplaces .About 250 prints of the movie has been given for international markets such as Dubai and US, where the movie may sell due to attraction of lead pair Sonam Kapoor and Imran.
The movie aims to target youngsters in the age group of 16 years to 22 years and most of the young audiences are happy to see the film. The movie is doing well in multiplexes in metro cities up to 80% but in small towns the occupancy is as low as 35%.In the weekend the multiplex owners are expecting the movie to pick up and register a collection of 75% from shows at multiplexes.
