Indian Film Industry filled with Bengali actresses

There are many actresses today and many we have seen earlier performing in Indian film Indurtry, who have their origin from Bengal. Today we have Riya Sen ,Raima Sen , Rani Mukharjee, Kajol, Bipasha Basu ,.Koena Mitra, Sushmita Sen, Rimi Sen, Tanushree Dutta and Konkana Sen who are doing well in our Hindi cinema.

Rani Mukharjee has been born and bought up in Mumbai but still she can be seen carrying the Bengali culture. Bipasha Basu is carrying the looks and glamour of a Bengali girl .She has been termed one of the sexiest actresses. Raima Sen,Rimi Sen and Konkana Sen have proved their performance in hindi cinema.

Earlier also in Film Industry we had many leading ladies from Bengal like Maushmi Chatergee, Jaya Bachchan, Rakhi, Sharmila Tagore , Suchitra Sen etc.

It started when Devika Rani was working in Hindi movies that there were many from west Bengal into the Hindi movie industry.

Some of the directors preferred the look and culture brought by the actresses from Bengal into the movies. The directors were Vimal Roy, Satyajeet Ray, Guru Dutt and few others like R.D Burman, S.D.Burman, Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar were also carrying the culture into the Hindi cinema. There are many movies made on the topic relating to Bengali families and their culture by Hrishikesh Mukharjee that were much praised by all.

The Bengali culture has some typical characteristics that are displayed in the hindi movie like the big bindi, sindoor, sari style and the red color in hands. Some of the best novels and stories have been written by Bengali writers. The story, saree pattern and living styles are displayed and liked even today ,by the movies like in ‘Devdas’ , ‘Yuva’,’Parineeta’.

The art, culture, dance and the story written by Bengali writers are much watched by the audience and this is performed well by an actresses belonging to the Bengali background, so we can find many actresses from Bengal in Hindi cinema. In fact the most leading actresses like Kajol, Rani and all Sen are doing very well in the film industry.
