Wife of actor Amitabh Bachchan and the politician, Jaya Bachchan spoke out against the Uttar Pradesh chief Minister, Mayawati for erroneously blaming Amitabh Bachchan of not paying the stamp duties during land registrations in Daulatpur. She said that Mayawati filed the legal case against Amitabh Bachchan to gain cheap publicity.
