Actress Kareena Kapoor has been crowned Indian Diva 2005 by Sahara One Television among eight tough contenders. Sparkling Koena Mitra and Glamorous Udita Goswami won the title of Style Diva and Diva Discovery of the year respectively.

None other than Zeenat Aman - India’s first Diva, was called upon to crown the three beauties ladies. Kareena admitted she thought Bipasha Basu would give her a run for her crown. Asked who her favourite all-time diva was, Kapoor said, “My sister Karisma. She has great style.”

Indian Diva a unique entertainment property in its second year was launched by Sahara One and Percept D’Mark. Their motto is to bring recognition to the most spirited diva from the film industry.

The contenders Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Shamita Shetty, Rimii Sen, Parmita Kakkar, Kareena Kapoor, Koena Mitra and Udita Goswami gave their performance on the hottest music tracks and were judged by the Sahara One Television viewers across the country though SMS poll.

The show was hosted by the former Miss World Diana Hayden along with Rohit Roy for Sahara One Television. The performances had taken place at NCPA in October and had been telecast on Sahara One all through November.

The crowning of the Indian Diva 2005 will be telecast on New Years Eve Saturday December 31, 2005 at 8.30 pm on Sahara One Television. The show would include performances of participants.
