Khan advocates entertainment in movies

Shahrukh Khan has made many movies under his production house and the movies were Ashoka, Paheli, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. All the movies carried some messages for its audience and the movies were not commercially successful and not even they were critically praised. In the recent IFFI Goa festival the actor said that he likes to make the movies that entertain people because most of the people are so alone that they watch movie to get some company.

The movie Om Shanti Om was basically a movie that made of fun of Indian Film Industry and had entertainment in the scenes that made fun of the costumes and lifestyles of people working in Bollywood in 1970’s. The movie was promoted from the start of its making and even after that.

The earlier released movie of the Shahrukh Khan in 2007 was Chak De India and Khan was the only prominent star in the movie Chak De India which was a blockbuster with a class subject and the movie was liked for performance by Khan.

Throughout the year people watched the movie Chak De India and waited for another movie from the star and when they got Om Shanti Om they just flocked to the theaters. But the movie Om Shanti Om which is a masala movie will be more liked by the western audience and this could be interpreted from the fact that the movie was promoted more in the west and as the results of movie release was out, it showed that Om Shanti Om was liked by audience in UK but in India the audience went to theatres to once watch the movie just to check the performance of the actor who acted so well in Chak De India.

If Om Shanti Om was a good movie the audience wouldn’t have turned to Jab We Met to watch movies in holidays and this showed that the movie having a lots of masala, full of dances choreographed by Farah Khan, 31 stars in a single song, six pack abs and lots n lots of entertainment was not really very entertaining for the Indian audience in general. The script of the movie was copied from Karz and all really looked too much artificial in the movie.

The actor had advocated entertainment in his movies at the Goa film festival and his last released movie might have earned money as audience went to theatres to check out the highly promoted movie of Khan after the success of Chak De India, but the fact is that the movie was not as such liked by the Indian audience even though it was packed with all kind of entertainments.
