The movie Khuda Kay Liye is a Pakistani movie that has been screened in many film festivals and is known for showing the aftereffects of 9 /11 terrorist attacks. The movie is extremely emotional and touching and it may be screened in Indian theatres on March 28.

The story of the movie is about a rich family in Lahore that encourages all kind of western and traditional values. The family has two young brothers who are interested in making a career in music. One of the brothers Sarmad joins an extremist group in Pakistan and the other goes to Chicago to join an international music school As Sarmad is staying in Chicago he marries his uncle’s British born daughter and his uncle gets furious over the marriage. Later the girl is forced to go back to Afghanistan where she is forcefully married to a local boy.

Then happens the 9 /11 event and the problems faced by both liberal Muslims and fundamentalists Muslims are shown. The Muslims in general are in a situation that they are no where. The boy living outside, Sarmad is taken by the US investigating and enforcement agencies to track if he has any association to the militant groups and Mansoor joins the Taliban extremists to fight in Afghanistan. In both way there is no way out for the two boys.

The movie tries to depict that how the people who are Muslims and from country like Pakistan are in general thought to be linked to militant groups and it also depicts that people who joins the terrorist groups are even suffering being in a militant group. The movie is a low budget venture that tries to give the message that portaging yourself as to be a Muslim , fighting , keeping women in purdah and torturing women , does not prove that you are a good Muslim but being a Muslim at heart is more important that depicting and showing your religious obsession.
