Kishna is Subhash Ghai’s new mega budgeted movie starring Vivek Oberoi. Along with him Hrishitaa Bhatt is also starring in the movie. Subash Ghai has casted a new UK based girl Antonia Bernath in this movie. Antonio plays Katharine, a chirpy, childlike, strong and spontaneous girl in Kisna.

Like any other Subash Ghai movie music would be the highlight of the movie. Subhash Ghai teams up with AR Rahman again after TAAL.

She has an uncle, who’s a monk. And she has made peace with India and Bollywood. Antonio Bernath is the next big thing on Subhash Ghai’s canvas. And her journey from school in England to the sets of Ghai’s Kisna is as dramatic as a potboiler. Antonio ran away from school and fought the daunting headmaster in order to make it to Ghai’s audition. She took the first train to her destination and made it.

“If things are meant to happen, nobody can stop it,” she says. While studying drama in Pristol Old Vich, England, Antonio hired an agent who made her auditioning possible. “I checked on the net who I will be auditioning for. When I learnt it was Subas (that’s how she pronounces his name) Ghai, I fought everybody to make it for the audition.” Her school doesn’t allow professional commitments with outsiders till they graduate. “My school is still bitter. But I have no regrets.” Now that India is the in thing in the West, Antonio feels it’s the right time to strike. Antonio and friends, with “great difficulty”, managed tickets to see A R Rahman’s musical Bombay Dreams . They also loved Monsoon Wedding . She was bowled over by Rajat Kapoor (of Monsoon Wedding ) and met him on the sets of Kisna . “For the first couple of days, I behaved like a star-struck fan till we broke the ice. I was shocked when he said hat he was not a star,” laughs Antonio. Incidentally, she didn’t know anything about co-star Vivek Oberoi till she met him. “We bonded pretty well. He teaches me Hindi and I teach him horse riding. With his knowledge of eastern philosophy and current affairs, Vivek was partly my window to India.” Why did she choose an Indian film as her debut? “Rather than scrambling for scraps in Hollywood, I took the chance to work with one of India’s big filmmakers.” Set in the ’40s, Antonio plays Katharine, a chirpy, childlike, strong and spontaneous girl in Kisna . Antonio, who just saw Kal Ho Na Ho , wants to meet Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta. “Vivek said he would introduce me to his girlfriend Aishwarya Rai.”
