Konkona replaces Rani Mukerjee in Mira Nair’s next

Mira Nair is looking for an actress to play the lead lady in her next flick which is based on Jhumpa Lahiris book. Speculations were ripe that Rani Mukherjee will bag the role. But as it turns out Konkona Sen is going to play the role. Konkona Sen recently won a national award for the movie - Mr and Mrs Iyer. Mira Nair was very impressed by Rani Mukerjee’s potrayal of battered wife in Yuva. But Rani Mukerjee is busy these days and see wasn’t to set adise bulk dates for the film the shooting for which has to begin this November.
