If there was anything that Daewoo Motors lacked in India, it was proper marketing. They had the best cars in their categories but in the end, it all ended in a bad taste. The company is now extinct, GM owns the brand and people who own a Matiz or a Cielo or a Nexia are stuck with no support.
This shows how proper advertisement can make or break the image of a company in the market. And well, companies are learning this fact pretty fast. Mahindra Scorpio’s advertisements are a revelation. And Tata Motors is next. The new Sumo ads are exceptionally interesting. Instead of glamorizing the image of the car as Scorpio does, they are emphasizing on the image of the people who drive the car. And well, it comes out very well…
If only they had thought of finding out some real life examples!
