Ladies trio - all set for the blast

Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Farah Khan come together for a Pepsi ad

After setting the big screen afire with their presence in Aitraaz, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra will now star together in a soft-drink ad. It will be shot by another high-profile lady Farah Khan. The trio is all set to shoot and will start shooting on October 27.

Kareena says, “I’m looking forward to getting together with Priyanka again. We had great fun shooting for Aitraaz. There was no rivalry between us. In fact, while shooting, I realised two actresses can be very good friends too. Shooting for the ad will be a party.”

Priyanka, who has just signed a Rs 2 crore deal for a two-year contract involving 12 days of work, is even more vocal. “The minute I heard Bebo was to shoot the commercial with me I whooped with joy and when I realised Farah is to direct us I whooped again. Three of us will have the time of our lives. We’ve already decided what naughty things we’re going to do.”

This must be the first ad in India where two leading actresses will be directed by a woman, isn’t it?
Priyanka says, “I don’t know about that. But this is my first ad ever I’m as nervous as I was when I did my first film. And the fact that Farah will direct me makes it even more special. She’s never directed me before this.” Priyanka is the latest client of the company that looks after endorsement deals for Amitabh Bachchan and she has them to thank for clinching this soft drink deal.

Next on their agenda is bagging a perfume deal for Priyanka “We hope to make Rs 10 crores on Priyanka’s behalf through endorsements in the next two years,” says celebrity-endorsement consultant Sunil Doshi. “Today, endorsements are much bigger for stars than movie deals. For a few days of work you’re paid more than what you get for an entire movie which takes up at least six months of your time.”
