The veteran singer, Lata Mangeshkar turned 79 on September 28 and the audience wishes Happy Birthday to her and expects her to live for 1000’s of years and every year to have more than 50000 of days as said in the Hindi song Tum Jeeyo Hazaaron Saal, Saal Ke Din ho Pachaas Hazaar.

Lata Mangeshkar has the golden voice that brings salvation to man who hears it. In the today’s life when everybody is simply running in all direction aimlessly trying to get something ,struggling hard, feeling emotional insecurity and depressed ,the songs by the singer brings the strength needed to uplift your spirits.
The bhajan songs Allah tero naam, festival songs Piyaa Tose Naina Laage Re, classical songs Thade Raheyo o Banke or something like Ajee roothkar ab kahan jayeejega ,all these songs are lovely and memorable songs. Many singers have tried singing the songs by Lata Mangeshkar but none could create such impact as she could do it. All mood songs are accurate with no mistakes. Not only the prayers or the songs with simple notes but the naughty songs and highly complex notes are easily delivered by the spinster singer.
The effective voice of the singer on the song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, made the Prime Minister of the country, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to get emotional on a National celebration day and comment that it was the best song he had ever heard in his life.
She has been singing from childhood and she has sung in more than 20 Indian languages. The songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar are unique in a way that her voice could generate the same effect and even better if there is no background music in the song. You can not imagine songs from any other singer without the effect of background music to create any impact.
Lata Mangeshkar had been rewarded the most prestigious Bharat Ratna award for her contribution to music. Lata Mangeshkar has also registered her name in the Guinness Book of World Records for recording maximum songs between the years 1974 to 1991.
Lata Mangeshkar has worked with the best composers and singers in the Indian film Industry from the 1950’s and she is still working with many of the good composers and singers in the Industry.
Her last released album was devotional album on the God Ganapathi. At the age of 79, we do not find any change in her voice and the melody is the same as it was some 60 years back. Lata Mangeshkar had also acted in a few movies for the Indian Film Industry and she has also composed some Marathi albums but her major contribution to Indian Cinema was the songs sung by her that reached everybody’s heart and ears without being loud.
