The Mahindra Film Festival held in New York was visited by many prominent non-resident Indians settled abroad like the famous writer Salman Rushdie.
Many Bollywood stars were also invited to the festival. The best actor award was given away to Abhay Deol and best actress award to Konkana Sen Sharma at the festival.
