Meera sick of marriage speculations and family pressures
Unable to restrain herself, Pakistani actress Meera talks about constant pressure she has to face from her family who wants to see her happily married. She also revealed that her family terms her globetrotting as awaragardi.
Mounting Family pressures
My family keeps asking, ‘Beta, when are you getting married? My father, brothers, mother, grandmother, sisters all keep pursuing the same topic. My grandmother wants to see me married, she says I am too old.
Not happy with her travelling around the globe
Yes, I do admit that my folks have a problem with my globetrotting. They term it as my awaragardi. Since I keep travelling to UK, Dubai, India and other countries, they think I lead a bohemian lifestyle. They also feel that I might fall in love with a Hindu boy. This is a big concern with them, as mine is a conservative family.
The actress ways of getting over marriage issue
After listening to them for a couple of minutes, when the pressure mounts, I just smile and retire to my room and sleep. At times, I meditate to overcome the stress. The Pakistan media too keeps speculating about my marriage. Whenever they begin their ‘marriage’ spiel, I ignore it. It has now become a routine, and I’ve got used to ignoring it.
