Her sexy image and dare-bare roles catapulted Meghna Naidu to fame, but now, the actress is discovering that too much of everything is not necessarily a good thing.

Despite playing a serious role in her upcoming film Bad Friend, she was shocked to find a scantily-clad picture of hers on the film’s posters. This is when “someone else is playing the sexy role,” she informs.

“The outfits I am wearing in the shoot have been digitally altered. They have reduced the length of my shorts and removed the straps of the top in one scene whereas in the other poster, it appears am just draped in a white sheet when in fact, both my shorts and bustier have been deliberately removed. This makes my character in the film appear completely opposite to what it actually is,” she clarifies.

Though Naidu claims to be “upset and distressed,” she is not planning to take any legal action against the producers. “I am in talks with them but now that the posters are out, why would anybody be interested in removing them?” she asks.

The producer, she says, has passed the buck onto the distributors. “They say this will help bring the viewers in, but it still hurts since this will prevent people from seeing me in a different light.”

Seems like Naidu, like many others of her ilk, has now been bitten by the I-want-to-be-known-as-an-actress bug even though the industry prefers her in the sex-kitten mould.
