The movie “Karma, Confessions & Holi” is similar to the movie “Monsoon Wedding “because it too shocks people while depicting the people celebrating a festival. A gathering of friends to celebrate the festival of colors, holi turns out to be a platform where all the friends speak about their secrets and about extra-marital relationship, sexual abuse and infertility.

The story is about Indian families that live in America and they have American friends .The story show the interpersonal conflicts of the members of the groups of Indian community that stays in America.

The story depicts a couple Meera and Dev and they are living in New York and after many years of their marriage they have lost the attraction in their relationship. They are in search of peace and love.

On the eve of Holi, Meera and Dev plan to call their friends and relatives to their place to celebrate the festival. There are many friends of Meera and Dev that include New York based struggling film maker Javed, Jenny and Javed’s girlfriend who is an aspiring actress.

Meera calls her sister Vani who has a son Vikram, a teenager and Vikram is not like his generation boys because he has been protected by his mother well. Vani’s husband Shekhar too accompanies Vani to her sister’s house. Shekhar is dull, non -ambitious man and is not successful.

The third couple is Sujata, an Indian born girl, has been married to American born Indian doctor Nimish and Nimish is dominating in his relationship because he feels gender superiority. Preeti, Sujata’s sister, she is rich and spoilt young generation girl.

A Tarot card reader Megan is a family well wisher and he too is invited to the function.

The people get together on Holi at Meera’s residence and what happens in the party is shown in the movie .The party turns out to be a place where all start sharing their secrets. Hence the story is about Karma, Confession and the festival of Holi.
